Eating clean is making better choices when choosing foods. It's about eating moreof thebest and healthiest options in each of the food groups—and eating less of the not-so-healthy ones. That means eating what nature intended us to eat, whole foods like vegetables, fruits, and whole grains, plus healthy proteins and fats, and staying away from highly processed foods that contain artificial ingredients, preservatives, colorants, and additives. Don’t fall for those seductive headlines that promise toxic removal overnight or getting slim in three days. Also, avoid clean eating plans that do not include healthy eating.  Starving is not clean eating.

Clean eating results vary from person to person, but one thing is for sure: clean eating and cleanse can help you reset your body on the path toward health and healing. If choosing a program, it should be based on whole foods, seasonal foods, and foods designed to support help your body to thrive!

If you have any medical issues, consult your doctor before starting clean eating or cleanse or making any major changes.

Here are a few things to get you started and save money:

  • Do some prep and plan out your meals for the following week before you go to the supermarket and stock up on ingredients you will be using.
  • Never go food shopping hungry! It’s a first mistake we do because then we are tempted to buy quick and processed junk!
  • Shop for products that do not have labels, like fresh fruits and veggies
  • Shop in Bulk at your local health food store. Bulk foods are cheaper than the packaged versions, and you will have clean and healthy foods. Things such as beans, chickpeas, etc. They are also easy to cook and easy to save for later. Whole grains such as quinoa, millet, brown rice, wild rice, teff, etc. Nuts and seeds.
  • Buy meat and poultry that have not been raised on hormones and/or fed GMO grains. It’s best to shop at your local Farmer Market and buy organic, pasture-raised meat. Look for a wild caught fish over farm-raised.
  • Dedicate some time and COOK YOUR FOOD! There is nothing better than homemade food to nourish your body and soul. From the aroma to the enjoyment and sharing it with people you love and care about!
  • Don’t be drastic and try to change your way of eating overnight. Take gradual steps and choose the foods you like first, little by little your taste buds will shift and you will learn to appreciate new flavors.
  • We all know that Life Happens! That’s why I encourage you to eat clean about 80% of the time and allow for mistakes and special occasions another 20% of the time.
  • Most importantly, enjoy the process and watch your health and your life improve!

Thank you Jurgita Caballero, for taking your time to take us through this 4 Days Clean Eating Challenge.  I invited my husband to join me in the challenge or otherwise he would have ended up cooking his own meals this week. He reluctantly joined in and to his surprise, he really enjoyed the program.  We enjoyed it such much that we plan to incorporate many of the meals to our weekly meals plan.  The plan was very well explained by Jurgita.  Not only did she send a detailed guide with all we need to execute the 4 Days Eating Clean Challenge, she also coached and motivated us through the entire process and stayed in touch with us by phone, email and Facebook answering any concerned or question we had. 

Thank you so much for your help in getting my healthy eating back on track. Your jump start program was so well organized, very easy to follow and your support was ongoing. I loved having the group page to hear about others progress, see photos of prepared meals and also learn from the questions asked. You encouraged all of us to stay focused on our goals. I especially liked that you sent personal one on one messages to ensure I was doing well with the program. All of those things certainly worked! In less than three weeks, I lost 10 pounds. 

Clean eating is a pretty simple concept.

It's about eating whole foods, or "real" foods — those that are un- or minimally processed, refined, and handled, making them as close to their natural form as possible. Choose organic whole foods over conventionally grown as much as possible. There are fewer pesticide residues on organic foods,  and they have higher nutritional value. Choosing local and seasonal foods is the best way to go!

​We learned to make better choices when at the grocery store, to make weekly meal plans and most importantly we feel more energetic and, as added bonus, we lost a couple pounds.  We plan to continue the clean eating and make lifestyle changes. Now we are ready for vacation!  Thank you again Jurgita for your professionalism and knowledge of the program.
